Marlene Bellini Wedding Planner Il Pavone Bianco Lake Maggiore

Welcome to my blog!

If you don’t know me yet, my name is Marlene and I am the founder of Il Pavone Bianco, a Wedding Planner agency on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italy.

It has been several months since I wanted to write this article, in order to make this blog more personal. When I talk about my job, I often arouse the curiosity of people who ask me.

“Wedding Planner” is a profession which is still relatively unknown on certain aspects and at the same time, which feeds a lot of fantasies.

So I want to use this blog to make you discover the “backstages” of my profession, the anecdotes, the difficulties but above all all the satisfaction it provides on a daily basis. I will take the opportunity to also give you advice and secrets for a successful marriage.

If you don’t want to lose any of my articles, don’t hesitate to subscribe to my personal Instagram page!

To start, I will introduce myself by answering the questions that I am asked the most frequently!

Where are you from and why did you come to settle in the area of Lake Maggiore?

I was born and raised in France, near the Swiss border. The area of Lake Maggiore is my region of origin since it is where my grandfather came from and where we had our family home. I have spent practically all of my vacations here since I was a child. So, even before living there, it is an area that I knew well and that I love.

How did you get the urge to organize weddings?

I have always liked to organize events, trips … moreover my first job and my first training is “travel agent”. When I was younger, it was always me who organized outings with friends or birthdays! It’s a real passion. Then when I moved to Italy in 2014, it became obvious, as the region is particularly suitable for romance and weddings.

What is your training?

I did a BTS (French diploma) in tourism then a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and events to end up with a specialized private training to be a “Wedding Planner”. Only 3 months after my training I opened my Wedding Planner business on Lake Maggiore, in April 2015.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this profession?

I will devote an article just to this subject! For me, the huge advantage of being a Wedding Planner is being able to manage your schedule as you wish. It’s a great freedom, especially when you have children. The disadvantages, I do not see any because I like all the aspects of my work: making contact with the newlyweds, the tastings, the organization and of course the wedding day which gives me a lot of satisfaction!

How is the organization of a wedding going with “Il Pavone Bianco”?

When the newlyweds contact me, we discuss their project so that I can really identify their request and answer their doubts.

Then, when I have really understood exactly their wishes, I make them several proposals for wedding venues that correspond to their wishes but also in line with the budget they wish to devote to the wedding. After having selected several places, I work out for them a complete and detailed estimate of all the services they will need for their wedding. Of course, the estimate is a basis and can evolve according to the requests of the newlyweds. Once they are satisfied with the proposal and wish to block the date, we make a contract. So much for the a little “technical” side.

Once the date has been blocked, we can start organizing the wedding. To help the newlyweds, I send them a little wedding guide and I follow them step by step in the organization until the best day of their life.

We will see everything together in the smallest details: catering menu, flowers, decoration, music, graphics, seating plan, animations…

A French Wedding on Lake Maggiore

A French wedding on Lake Maggiore

Venue: Villa Rocchetta | Photographer: Enrico Mocci

Our beautiful French couple, Choé & Guillaume love the lakes area and Italy.

It is really a family story, as Chloé’s parents had already married a few years earlier in Orta San Giulio, on Lake Orta.

Choé & Guillaume wanted a romantic venue directly on the lake and so they chose the beautiful Villa Rocchetta in Ispra, on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore.

The ceremony of our French wedding on Lake Maggiore, overlooking the lake, was very emotional with the American gospel. The aperitif was organized in the beautiful park but, due to a trick of the weather (yes we are talking about improvised hail!) we had to move it inside quickly! The reactivity of our trusted catering was decisive in this situation!

So the guests were able to enjoy the party even with plan B. In fact, Chloé’s message after the wedding told us that all the guests were enchanted by their wedding.

Dinner was planned inside the dining room, with a veranda overlooking the lake, while after dinner on the ground floor, in the ancient rooms of the Villa that overlook the outside.

A princess wedding on Lake Maggiore

A princess wedding a stone’s throw from Lake Maggiore

That’s really how I can describe the wedding of Matilde & Nicolas. Our Franco-Italian couple from Paris had a real princess wedding!

The religious ceremony took place in the beautiful church of San Carlo. After that, the celebrations took place at Castello Dal Pozzo, an amazing wedding venue. Today this castle is a resort combining tradition and modernity not far from the pretty city of Arona, on lake Maggiore.

Everything has been planned so that the 200 guests have a good time and live a real experience! It all started with an aperitif in the park of the Castle with speeches and photobooth. Then, the dinner took place overlooking Lake Maggiore in a “starry sky” marquee rented for the occasion. Finally, the dancing party took place in the centuries-old rooms of the Castle.

Romantic Escape on Lake Orta

Romantic escape on Lake Orta

There is no age to swear eternal love… This is shown by this wonderful couple…

On the occasion of the 70 years of the Lord they offered themselves an unforgettable moment, a walk in two (and a half!) in the typical streets of Orta San Giulio.

Unforgettable moments thanks to our photographer who left an endless memory!

Romantic Wedding Lake Orta

Romantic Wedding Lake Orta

Noémie and Loïc are two young lovers who enjoy life to the fullest.

Their dearest wish was to have a wedding that looks like them: romantic but also simple and warm.

The ceremony with the ritual of wine … all a symbol.

What does it consist of? The bride and groom write a letter explaining their choice to marry each other. These letters are enclosed with the bottle in the wooden box that is sealed.

This box will be open if the couple experiences a period of difficulties. At that moment, they will be able to read each one their mail and the reasons for which they wished to marry. If nothing comes to hinder the happiness of the couple for 10 years, the opening of the box is perfect to celebrate this beautiful anniversary !

After this emotional ceremony, the festivities continued until late at night. All this in the beautiful Villa Orta on the shores of Lake Orta.

A green and white Wedding

Delia et Marco, two young Italians, live in a wonderful setting, directly on the shores of Lake Orta…

For this reason, they would not have chosen another place in the world to celebrate their Wedding!

The words were “simplicity” and “authenticity” with delicate and elegant colors: white and green.

Delia, in her princess dress, came to Villa Bossi with a vintage wooden boat, typical of the lake.

After this theatrical arrival, there was the civil ceremony surrounded by their loved ones. After that, they made a tour of the lake with an aperitivo on board and continue their big day in Orta San Giulio…

What does a Wedding Planner do?

Maybe you ask: What exactly does a Wedding Planner do?

How can he help me to organize the most beautiful day of my life? Will it really be a help or just a waste of time and money?

So many questions … legitimate, as this professional figure has been present in Europe for a few years.

Small Wedding Lake Maggiore

Lauren and Daniel, our two American spouses, contacted us about a month before they came to Italy.

Their dream: to marry in privacy on Lake Maggiore. A handful of friends as witnesses and the two of them … Challenges raised !

In one month we found the church (which was not easy at the end of June), we realized the bilingual ceremonial booklets, we personally handled official religious documents and were able to program this magical day…

Unfortunately on D-Day, a storm fell on the lake … but hey do not we say “rainy wedding happy marriage”? Lauren and Daniel kept a smile for the best day of their lives and found themselves a few days later in Stresa for a photo shoot this time … under the sun!

Wedding on Lake Maggiore

When our Swiss spouses, passionate about travel, fell in love with Lake Maggiore, they decided to leave their bags for their special day.

And it is during a beautiful summer day they said “yes”, surrounded by their loved ones, on the lake shores…

After a religious ceremony outdoors, they could enjoy a long drink in the park at sunset.
