Welcome to my blog!
If you don’t know me yet, my name is Marlene and I am the founder of Il Pavone Bianco, a Wedding Planner agency on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italy.
It has been several months since I wanted to write this article, in order to make this blog more personal. When I talk about my job, I often arouse the curiosity of people who ask me.
“Wedding Planner” is a profession which is still relatively unknown on certain aspects and at the same time, which feeds a lot of fantasies.
So I want to use this blog to make you discover the “backstages” of my profession, the anecdotes, the difficulties but above all all the satisfaction it provides on a daily basis. I will take the opportunity to also give you advice and secrets for a successful marriage.
If you don’t want to lose any of my articles, don’t hesitate to subscribe to my personal Instagram page!
To start, I will introduce myself by answering the questions that I am asked the most frequently!
Where are you from and why did you come to settle in the area of Lake Maggiore?
I was born and raised in France, near the Swiss border. The area of Lake Maggiore is my region of origin since it is where my grandfather came from and where we had our family home. I have spent practically all of my vacations here since I was a child. So, even before living there, it is an area that I knew well and that I love.
How did you get the urge to organize weddings?
I have always liked to organize events, trips … moreover my first job and my first training is “travel agent”. When I was younger, it was always me who organized outings with friends or birthdays! It’s a real passion. Then when I moved to Italy in 2014, it became obvious, as the region is particularly suitable for romance and weddings.
What is your training?
I did a BTS (French diploma) in tourism then a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and events to end up with a specialized private training to be a “Wedding Planner”. Only 3 months after my training I opened my Wedding Planner business on Lake Maggiore, in April 2015.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this profession?
I will devote an article just to this subject! For me, the huge advantage of being a Wedding Planner is being able to manage your schedule as you wish. It’s a great freedom, especially when you have children. The disadvantages, I do not see any because I like all the aspects of my work: making contact with the newlyweds, the tastings, the organization and of course the wedding day which gives me a lot of satisfaction!
How is the organization of a wedding going with “Il Pavone Bianco”?
When the newlyweds contact me, we discuss their project so that I can really identify their request and answer their doubts.
Then, when I have really understood exactly their wishes, I make them several proposals for wedding venues that correspond to their wishes but also in line with the budget they wish to devote to the wedding. After having selected several places, I work out for them a complete and detailed estimate of all the services they will need for their wedding. Of course, the estimate is a basis and can evolve according to the requests of the newlyweds. Once they are satisfied with the proposal and wish to block the date, we make a contract. So much for the a little “technical” side.
Once the date has been blocked, we can start organizing the wedding. To help the newlyweds, I send them a little wedding guide and I follow them step by step in the organization until the best day of their life.
We will see everything together in the smallest details: catering menu, flowers, decoration, music, graphics, seating plan, animations…
If you want to organize your wedding on Lake Maggiore, Orta or Lake Como, do not hesitate to contact me!
